Hartmut Betke

Hartmut has ten years of experience in private equity and corporate finance. He joined from Frankfurter Beteiligungs-Holding, where he was working in investing private equity in distressed and restructuring situations. Prior to that, he worked for the private equity team of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and London, having trained with Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and New York. He graduated from the University of Karlsruhe with a Degree in Business Administration and Industrial Engineering.

Sophie Christmann Sophie Christmann joined Augusta & Co in Frankfurt in April 2006 to focus on supporting financing and merger & acquisition transactions, having worked for Augusta before as a Summer Intern. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. During her studies she completed several Corporate Finance internships in Frankfurt and London including at Augusta & Co, Dresdner Bank as well Doertenbach & Co.

Simon Clement-Davies Simon Clement-Davies worked for thirteen years as an investment banker before moving into the media industry to focus on content creation in music, television and film as an entrepreneur. As an investment banker Simon was a Director of Hill Samuel Securities specialising in cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions. He subsequently ran the Media desk at Bankers Trust where his clients included a number of Europe's leading media businesses, including Carlton Communications, Telewest, Bertelsmann and Antena 3. At Bankers Trust he was involved in a broad range of transactions in M&A, structured finance and derivatives.

Emma Corbally joined Augusta as the Office Manager in London in December 2006, having graduated with a Diploma with Distinction from Queen’s Business & Secretarial College in London, in July 2006. She has previously worked for law firm Gibson Young and her skills include PA and executive management support.

John Edwards has 17 years' experience of providing corporate finance and M&A advice to clients on mid-market transactions. He joined Augusta & Co in early 2007 to develop Augusta's mid market corporate finance advisory practice in the UK. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, he joined Hill Samuel Bank where he became a director of Hill Samuel Securities and then joined Close Brothers Corporate Finance where he was a Director. For the 4 years prior to joining Augusta, he was a Managing Director of Amethyst Corporate Finance.

Dieter Falke

Dieter has worked for over 20 years as a Banker. Prior to joining Augusta as a Senior Adviser he was Head of Falke Bank, a German private bank focused on Mid Market corporate finance and Asset Management. Prior to Falke Bank, he was a member of the management board of Westdeutschtsche Landesbank and with the Damiler Benz AG. He started his career in the corporate finance team of Deutsche Bank AG in both Germany and New York. He graduated from the University of Munich with a Degree in Business Administration and gained his doctorate at the University of Konstanz.

  Philipp Farenholtz
Philipp Farenholtz Philipp Farenholtz has 8 years of experience in corporate finance and leveraged finance. He was most recently at Intermediate Capital Group (ICG), where he was working on mezzanine investments for leveraged buy-out transactions in the German market. Prior to that, he was an analyst at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney, where he worked on several equity and M&A transactions in the media and technology sectors. Philipp obtained his MA in Economics at the University at Albany (SUNY) and his Vordiplom in Business Administration at the University of Würzburg. He speaks German.

Justin FitzHugh spent six years in Industrials M&A/IB at JPMorgan in London, where he worked on a broad range of private and public sector transactions including United Technologies' acquisition of Chubb plc. After JPMorgan, he gained an MSc (with Distinction) in Energy Policy from Imperial College London before moving to ILEX (now Pöyry) Energy Consulting, where he worked on management and economic consulting projects in the power sector. He joined Climate Change Capital at the start of 2006, working on project finance, private equity and M&A mandates across the clean energy and carbon credit sectors. He joined Augusta in August 2008.

Gabrielle joined Augusta as Business Manager in December 2007 to manage the rapid growth of the Company. She trained as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in Melbourne, Australia, and gained financial management experience at General Electric, Australian Unity and AXA UK. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne.

Lucinda joined Augusta as Marketing Manager in March 2006. Lucinda has ten years of experience in Marketing and Public Relations, and graduated with a Master of Arts Honours degree from Edinburgh University in Art History in 1998. Lucinda speaks French.

Benjamin Hall joined Augusta in June 2008. He was most recently a member of the multi-sector advisory team at Evercore and had previously completed an internship with UBS in New York. He graduated in 2006 from the London School of Economics with an LLB in Law.

James Knight James Knight is a Director within Augusta’s renewables practice. He has focused on renewables for the past 5 years and worked for 11 years in the M&A market and leverage finance market. Prior to joining Augusta, James spent almost 5 years in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs, both in the LBO Coverage Group and the UK Advisory Team, and subsequently as a private equity advisor at Vision Capital. James has an MA in Economics and Geography from Edinburgh University.

James Macmillan-Scott James Macmillan-Scott has 28 years of capital markets experience. He has established investment banking and equity platforms in the US and Europe. He was CEO of the US subsidiary of Savory Milln, (later SBCI Savory Milln); Head of Merrill Lynch's International Equity Distribution in North America; Head of Equity, North America, for Deutsche Bank; CEO of Deutsche Bank's NYSE listed $1bn Mutual Funds family; CEO at Hambrecht and Quist's Euromarkets (later Close Brothers) and SEO of Friedman, Billings, Ramsey's European investment bank.

Mortimer Menzel Mortimer Menzel is head of Augusta's renewable energy practice. He has 5 years of expertise in placing equity finance in renewable energy deals (both project and corporate finance) and 17 years of banking, legal and financial structuring experience. Prior to joining Augusta, Mortimer was at Goldman Sachs corporate finance/M&A in Frankfurt. Before becoming a banker, Mortimer was a solicitor with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Frankfurt, specializing in cross-border asset and structured finance transactions. He trained with Linklaters in London.

Michael Poynor Michael has worked in the retail sector for over thirty years. He was an executive with C&A in the UK and The Netherlands for nine years and then, for six years, was responsible for International Business Development at Asda, prior to its acqusition by WalMart. His former academic roles include principal lecturer at the London Institute and adjunct professor of International Retailing at Syracuse University. Michael has provided commercial and operational due diligence services across all retail and branded goods sectors for most of the Private Equity houses in the UK and Europe, and a number of the major banks. Via his company Chanctonbury Ltd, he is also contracted as Chief Retail Adviser by PricewaterhouseCoopers in London. Michael operates from bases in the UK and France, and speaks a number of European languages.

Frederik Roever Frederik Roever joined Augusta & Co in August 2006 to focus on supporting financing and merger & acquisition transactions. Prior to Augusta, Mr. Roever worked in investment banking at FCF Fox Corporate Finance. Frederik Roever graduated with honours from Technical University Berlin and speaks German.

Holger Schekorr Holger Schekorr has six years of experience in private equity and corporate finance. Prior to joining Augusta, he worked for DZ Equity Partner, an affiliate of DZ Bank, where he invested private equity and mezzanine in medium sized companies. Previous to this he worked for M.M.Warburg & CO where he focused on M&A and Privatization, and as a business consultant for IBM. Holger graduated from the University of Würzburg with a Degree in Business Administration, and also holds a bankers diploma.

Benedikt von Schröder Benedikt von Schröder has been active at a senior level in corporate finance and private equity for over 20 years. Prior to joining Augusta he was a Partner at Clayton Dubilier & Rice, the US private equity firm, which he joined in April 2000 to help identify investment opportunities in Germany and Europe and take advantage of the massive restructuring of German industry currently underway. Prior to joining CD&R, he was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and a Member of the Management Board of Morgan Stanley AG in Frankfurt, responsible for its German and Austrian investment banking business.

Thomas A. Warnholtz Thomas Warnholtz has 17 years of experience as a structured investments and leveraged debt banker. He joined Augusta to concentrate on senior and mezzanine debt structuring and placement. Previously he worked for Intermediate Capital Group PLC (ICG), the leading mezzanine finance house in Europe, as Investment Director and Country Head for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Thomas joined ICG to establish their business in the German speaking countries. Before that he established the Structured Finance Group at Landesbank Berlin / Bankgesellschaft Berlin, Berlin. Prior to this he worked in the investment banking division of Citibank/Citicorp in Frankfurt and New York.

Bhavana Woskowski Bhavana Woskowski joined Augusta as the Office Manager in Frankfurt. Bhavana has sixteen years of experience in office management and assistance to the management. Prior to joining Augusta, she worked for the Advisory Board of Morgan Stanley Bank AG in Frankfurt. Bhavana holds a degree in humanist psychology.
